My most sincere apologies…
Thing is, there isn’t a “layered look” to what I’m doing. It DOES look integrated and everything interacts just fine. In fact, it looks a lot more integrated when I do those things than it does when I leave the images unaltered and let the program do it all. I’ve found the lighting in DAZ|Studio makes LOTS of mistakes, not casting shadows where there should be (like on the undersides of fluttering clothing and the back of the hair against the neck). That’s simple light theory and it’s a total pain to have to go hunt down some special setting just to make an object act like a normal object when it comes to shadows. Like I said, I see no reason to wait a week just to get an affect I can get much faster painting it myself. But then I have a limited display season when the majority of the shows I send work to happen. So I need to be able to get things DONE. If I can get things done to my satisfaction by using the full combination of programs at my disposal and the art looks good, it works for me. *shrug*
